We had some great news this week. Our final drafts of the home study have now been sent off! The agency here in Alabama sent off three copies of the home study this week. One copy goes to me and Holly, one goes to the state of Alabama (DHR), and one goes to our agency in Texas. When we get our copy of the home study, we can take it, with the rest of our Dossier down to Montgomery to have it all authenticated. This is the process of having our notary signatures and stamps notarized. Once this is complete it will be sent to Guatemala where we will be placed on the referral list for a baby! There is one last step that must take place, however, before we can receive the referral. One copy of the home study, the one sent to DHR, will be processed as part of our I600a that is at USCIS. Once this copy of the home study clears, which is in essence the passage of our I600a, we will receive another form from USCIS that allows us to be officially in the running to receive a referral from Guatemala! We are excited to say the least. Look out Montgomery, we're coming back for some more fun!
Shalom.
