The home study is here!

We have our home study! We received our copy of the home study last week. Receiving the home study means that we can now send off our completed dossier pending certification and authentication! I (Chris) was unfortunately gone to camp and was unable to sign some of the forms needed for the dossier. We were able to get on track with it this week. Holly began the process of getting our dossier papers authenticated. This is in essence the process of having your notarized papers notarized. Each notary stamp must be certified on the county, state and federal levels before the dossier is complete. We are hoping to have our county certifications done by thursday so that we can physically take the papers down to the secretary of state office in Montgomery to finish the state level certification. As soon as that is completed, the dossier will be overnighted to the Guatemalan consulate in Miami. As soon as it clears there we will be able to be put on the list for an adoption in Guatemala! We will not be able to actually receive a referral however until we have finished up and been approved by USCIS (I-600a). We are getting closer! Holly was looking at plane tickets today. I am happy to say that the prices are going down!
