Step, step, step, step…the sound of Chris’ feet matched the heavy pounding of my heartbeat as he walked out the front door. He left our house only moments ago, not empty-handed. Rolled up in his right hand was the application to For This Child. Headed to Kinkos for reliable faxing services, phase one of the journey (choosing an agency we can trust) has finally come to an end. I’ll never forget the sound of his feet padding across the hardwood floor as he left to fulfill his “faxing” commission…for me it signified both great excitement and hardship. All of a sudden the paperwork and the financial responsibility and the parental responsibility have become so real. Sure, it will be hard work, but I can’t wait to one day tell Isabella that she was not only chosen…she was passionately sought after to complete our family.
